I’m Dave... Creative Matador is my alias. This isn’t a personal blog about my daily ventures. This is a virtual space for me to visually communicate a culmination of my views and those around me. I’m no expert. I’m no knighted designer. I’m just a simple guy in love with art and I’ve got a lot to say.
Childhood days of mimicking my brother’s sketches have matured into doodles of political rants. My dream of becoming a professional cartoonist or graphic designer has long faded... the title ‘Starving Artist’ just doesn’t have that ring to it... or would it make the bills.
So here’s my blog... my work... my thoughts... drop me a few lines if you’ve got something to add – view at own risk.

Genius. I’m always in awe of you.
Let us hope the “Reality” of our future World does not come to pass. Making everyone aware of that reality should make us all more conscientious of our actions, and ensure our future generation does not suffer because of what we are now doing to our Earth.

David, your work is always amazing. Lately, everywhere we look there is a bomb of some kind – economy in a shambles, natural disasters everywhere, horrific manmade disasters – just a plethora of calamities occurring or hanging over our heads, casting shadows over our future.
But you always provide hope, and Kensie clutches onto her flower from her field of dreams, knowing that Max is always there to protect her, so she can replant it and change reality back to expectation. Love the imagery.

I think you depict reality vs. expectation beautifully! It’s a scary thought, the world our children will grow to see… hopefully we can shield them from some of the ugly. xoxo.

We as a society have let our own self importance cloud our vision for tomorrow. We take what we want today and never give a thought as to those white puffy clouds and blue skies that we use to see by day or the beauty of the thousands of stars by night. Your right to be worried, so how do we wake-up the complacent? What happened to the fire-flies we use to chase at night?
Dave, as a shrink, I am forever hopeful that what we do in our home with our kids far outweigh the negative situations of the world outside. Just keep talking to them about the harsh realities of life but let them also be overwhelmed with our love, support and wisdom. Trust me, it will carry them through the “not so good times” and feel less hopeless about their future lives.
